In the following 1-minute video, which was recorded in 2011 and has since been viewed over 180 million times, Andrew Grantham, from Nova Scotia, Canada, teases his German shepherd about the food in his fridge, or lack thereof. By cleverly adding a voiceover to a home video of his dog, Grantham manages to produce a particular brand of timeless, comedic fun.
As a result of the video’s tremendous success, all proceeds from the merchandise of “Ultimate Dog Tease”, which was voted YouTube’s #1 Video of the Year in 2011, go to the Nova Scotia SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty (to Animals)), and Grantham has since gone on to produce a steady stream of similar videos involving witty voice characterisations and animal dubs.
